Cards against the machine
2025, experimantal music instrument, diploma project
What is the meaning of action in the context of social systems? Is
saying words an act of self-expression rather than an attempt to
communicate? When the machine keeps running no matter what we say, the
only appropriate expression is play.
The
music instrument is made with obsolete bank card reader and microphone
cables. Thanks to my own recording technique based on ferromagnetic
properties of the material it is possible to record and play back a
sound sample directly onto a bank card's magnetic
stripe.
