As a part of Global - Local project in collaboration with Haagsche Schouw association
The goal of the game is to claim a space.
This is the first rule the players hear, and the only one they will have in mind through the game. Are there other rules than competition, and how to play them in the times of housing crisis?
The game is an outcome of a Global-Local collaboration between KABK
students and Haagsche Schouw association members, including government
advisors and the highest court lawyers specialized in the legal aspects
of housing in the Netherlands.
The game involves five players with
markers on a limited playground space. Their goal is to claim as much territory as possible within a short time by marking it. However, there is a
hidden way to win the game — through collaboration and marking the
space together.
A transparent material covering the playground
preserves the traces of conflicts.
Hung together round after round, these divisions create a visual narrative of the ongoing struggle for land.
︎︎︎ Game setup includes: 10 square meter playground covered with transparent sheet, 6 colorful markers, printed set of rules, 3 game masters.
